Local youth soccer club says storage shed broken into

The South Allegheny Youth Soccer Club says someone broke into their locked storage shed last week.

The volunteer-run organization said in a social media post, that a cash box that included funds from last weekend's games was stolen.

Two camping chairs, referee's whistles and stopwatches were also taken.

The group wrote that the thefts affect not just their club, but their players and the community that supports them.

"SAYSC is a small, volunteer-run organization made up of parents of players," the message reads, in part. "All proceeds from our concession stand go directly toward paying our youth referee volunteers each week. Our fundraisers and tip boards help support fun activities for our players and their families throughout the season."
