Longtime Pittsburgh radio personality Jim Quinn dies

Longtime Pittsburgh radio personality Jim Quinn died Sunday at the age of 82.

His career started at KQV as a DJ in the 1960s and he was one half of the Quinn and Banana show on B-94. He was also at 13Q.


Quinn transitioned to talk radio with co-host Rose Tennant heard on local stations and satellite radio in the 2000's.

Bubba, from 100.7 Star tells KDKA Radio, "the only reason I'm in radio today and have a radio career is because of Jim Quinn."

Bubba said he maintained a relationship with Quinn over the years.

Larry Richert worked with Quinn at WTAE Radio said the last time he saw him "he had one of his Corvettes and he was a car guy."

No immediate cause of death was given.
