PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - The Pittsburgh Steelers 1st round draft pick in 1984, Louis Lipps, a wide receiver, was inducted into the Steelers Hall of Honor, Class of 2021 last week.
When Lipps first received a voicemail from Art Rooney's office in regard to the award, he thought he was in trouble.
"I said what the heck have I done now," Lipps said during the KDKA Radio Morning Show. "It took me about fifteen to twenty minutes before I made the call."
Lipps said that's when Rooney congratulated him and his induction.
Lipps was joined by former safety Carnell Lake, offensive tackle Jon Kolb, and offensive tackle and broadcaster Tunch Ilkin.
The class will be honored November 14 when the Steelers play the Detroit Lions.
