The storm swept away 13 standard size American flags and countless other light post flags honoring local veterans.

American legion post 868 in Lower Burrell is now doing all they can to replace them.
Lucy Perkins with post 868 says it's pivotal to their community.

“That’s our city showing how patriotic we are. It’s just a beautiful sight to see all of our flags lined up in a row on Leechburg Road.  It just makes you feel good that we come together.

She's asking anyone who may have picked one up after the storm to return it to the legion. To donate, contact the legion or the Lower Burrell Lions Club.

The flags cost about $150 each.
