Lung cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in the United States. It's the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women and makes up for 25% of all cancer deaths. That's according to the American Cancer Society's latest statistics. To put it all in perspective and talk about how UPMC's Hillman Cancer Center is helping uncover hidden lung cancer, I'm joined by Dr. Taofeek Owonikoko who is the Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology.
Dr. Owonikoko tells me that the combination of researchers and doctors at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center makes them one of the top places in not just the region, but the country when it comes to diagnosing and treating lung cancer.
