Major snow storm COULD impact Pittsburgh this weekend

It's still too early too know how much and when the snow will fall

We don’t know how much snow we’ll get and the exact timing but forecasters expect this weekend’s storm to be “very disruptive.”

AccuWeather meteorologist Joe Lundberg, says a major winter storm could affect our region.

He tells the Big K Morning Show, it's not a matter of if, but when and how much.

“I think it’s hard to escape snow out of this (storm),” said Lundberg. “I would think there is potential for at least half a foot of snow out of this, and probably more.”

Lundberg says there are some models that show not a lot of snow, but he is leaning more toward the 6-inch plus snowfall around Pittsburgh.

He says, right now, the storm will likely hit late Saturday or Saturday night and lasting into Sunday, before tapering off late in the day or early at night.

But, with the storm still a few days away, a lot can change, depending on how the storm tracks.

We’ll keep you updated with the latest changes to the forecast as we continue through the week.
