A man accused of punching in elderly man outside of a local Sam’s Club last year has been taken into custody.
24-year-old Terrell Byars had been on the loose since August 2023 after he failed to comply with sentence after a guilty plea on a gun charge.
The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office says Byars was also wanted by Monroeville Police after allegedly punching an 84-year-old man in the face in the parking lot of a Monroeville Sam’s Club on William Penn Highway.
That incident happened on August 13, 2023. Video evidence shows a man, identified as Byars, attacking the man.
The victim was treated for a swollen eye and head injury as a result of hitting his head on the ground.
Byars was arrested in the West End section of Pittsburgh after.
He was arrested, without incident, found hiding under a bed.
He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
