Man accused of shooting at police faces new charges

A Man out on bond accused of shooting at police officers facing new charges.

20-year-old Mitchell Johnson, already facing a charge of attempted homicide for firing shots at police officers, was arrested Wednesday.

The Munhall Police Department was looking for a reported stolen Chevrolet Malibu when they spotted the vehicle in Braddock.

The Allegheny County Sheriff's department says following a short pursuit, the vehicle struck a fence and two garages along Isabella Alley.

Once stopped, the driver, identified as Johnson, fled on foot.

Police say a juvenile passenger in the vehicle also attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended and was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm magazine.

Johnson is facing several charges including two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest.
