Police say that two overnight fires, among several others, were caused by the same person.

Allegheny County Police say 41-year-old David Harknett of Pittsburgh was taken into custody early Thursday morning about an hour and 20 minutes after the fire on William Penn Highway at the former Hooters location.

Through an investigation, detectives say Harknett is also responsible for the fire at Christ the Devine Shepard Parish on Azalea Drive in Monroeville just after 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning as well as four vehicle fires going back to Tuesday.

Those include vehicle fires on the 200 block of Garden City Drive and the 200 block of Lilac Drive, both on June 12, a vehicle fire and theft in the 200 block of Caryl Drive in Pleasant Hills and a fire and theft in the 4300 block of Clairton Boulevard in Brentwood, both on June 11.

Harknett faces multiple charges including aggravated arson, criminal mischief, receiving stolen property and recklessly endangering another person.

He was taken to Allegheny County Jail, awaiting a preliminary arraignment.
