The man that was convicted on several charges for a brutal attack at the Aliquippa VFW has been sentenced to 16-32 years in jail.
Brett Ours was sentenced Tuesday morning at the Beaver County Courthouse.
Ours was convicted of several charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault and strangulation.
The victim, Preston Coleman had to airlifted to the hospital after the fight.
Video surveillance showed bystanders watching without intervening.
“[The attack] had a profound and lasting impact on Mr. Coleman, his family, and the broader community,” Aliquippa Police wrote on Facebook. “Such acts of senseless violence cannot and will not go without accountability.”
Co-defendant Ronald Brown was sentenced to 3 to 6 years in prison after taking a plea agreement and pleading guilty to aggravated assault.
Another co-defendant Ireland Brown, is currently awaiting trial.
