Man charged in fatal November 2024 Penn Hills crash

Allegheny County Police have charged a Penn Hills man in connection with a fatal crash in Monroeville back in November of 2024.

Shiya Young was killed in the two-car accident that happened in the 3700 block of William Penn Highway on November 3.

Allegheny County detectives determined the driver of one of the vehicles, 49-year-old Marcus Alston, had a blood alcohol content of .233 percent and was driving 90 miles per hour in a posted 35 mile per hour zone.

Alston is facing multiple charges including homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and involuntary manslaughter.
