Police say 32 year old Jerry Rempuszewski left a 5 year old and six month old baby in the car for nearly 40 minutes Tuesday while he got a massage.
Springdale police have charged him with leaving an unattended child in a motor vehicle, endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person.
Police found the kids in the parking lot of Glenn's Custard on Pittsburgh Street with the windows cracked about three inches.
Police say they five year old boy was awake and the 6-month old baby girl was extremely red and soaked in sweat.
Both children were rushed to Children's Hospital.
Rempuszewski told police he was getting ice cream for the kids but surveillance video showed he never approached Glen's.
The heat index was 87 degrees at the time. A preliminary hearing is set for June 24th.
