Man dies after being hit by box truck in Uptown

A man died after being hit by a vehicle on Thursday morning in Pittsburgh.

It happened in Uptown/Bluff second of Pittsburgh at the intersection of Forbes and Pride Street after 10:30 a.m.

Police found a man dead at the scene and an early investigation indicates the victim stumbled along a sidewalk before he fell into the roadway.

After falling into the roadway, he was hit by a box truck.

The driver of the truck remained on the scene and has been ‘Highly cooperative” with police.

“In the upcoming weeks, the city’s Vision Zero Fatal Crash Response Team, which includes the Pittsburgh Police Collision Investigation Unit, will complete a site visit to evaluate potential crash factors,” Pittsburgh Public Safety said in a release. “After the site visit, additional updates will be made available on the Vision Zero Working Group's Engage Page.”
