A McKees Rocks man already wanted on several bench warrants is facing new charges after guns were found inside an overstuffed teddy bear in his house.

Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin Kraus’ office say detectives began trying to find 27-year-old Terry Purdue after four bench warrants were recently issued against him for violating probation on past guilty pleas.

On Late Tuesday morning, police located Purdue inside a residence along Grove Street in McKees Rocks.

Purdue was taken into custody without incident and detectives began a sweep of the home, including an upstairs bedroom with a large teddy bear in it.

While moving the bear to make sure no one was hiding under it, police felt a “hard object” inside the bear with turned out to be a handgun.

After securing a search warrant, an additional, loaded handgun, reported stolen out of Uniontown, was found inside the bear as well.

Marijuana and heroin were also found inside the home during the search

Purdue faces two new firearms charges and four new drug charges.
