A McKees Rocks man facing over two dozen charges that include aggravated assault of an unborn child and the kidnapping of a minor has been arrested by The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office.
24-year-old Justin Daugherty was charged in late August after police say he went to the home of his former girlfriend after he was released from the Allegheny County Jail, and assaulted his ex-girlfriend after finding out she had a new boyfriend.
After Daugherty found out she was pregnant, the victim says he punched her in the stomach on multiple occasions.
Two days later, Daugherty went to the resident of his ex’s current boyfriend and is accused of firing a gun, injuring one of two men who lived there.
Daugherty then then grabbed his ex and a 1-year-old girl and forced them into a car. He allegedly threatened more violence if she told the police what happened.
Daugherty also faces warrants on other charges, including a firearm charge and a bond violation on an attempted homicide charge.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office found that Daugherty was inside a Stowe Township home and secured search warrant for the residents that bellowed to the mother of Daugherty’s child.
When officers announced their presence, Daugherty attempted to leave through a window but when he saw K9 officer Riky, went back into the house.
Detectives forced their way into the home and arrested Daugherty without further incident. He was taken to Allegheny County Jail.
