Man guilty of animal cruelty found hiding in East Pittsburgh crawlspace

A man found guilty on several counts of animal cruelty in Pittsburgh was found by the Allegheny County Sheriff’s detectives Wednesday hiding in a crawlspace.

Sheriff Kevin Kraus’ office says 25-year old Kachyphe McCullough-Williams pleaded guilty in 2022 to 11 counts of animal cruelty including one count of aggravated animal cruelty.

He was sentenced to a probation period of over 20 years.

Then, six weeks ago, a bench warrant was issued for probation violations along with additional violations to previous cases including one involving strangulation and another involving aggravated assault.

Sheriff’s detectives learned earlier this week of McCullough-Williams’ whereabouts, that he was inside a home along Franklin Street in East Pittsburgh.

After being allowed into the residence, police found McCullough-Williams hiding in an attic crawlspace.

He was transported to the Allegheny County Jail without incident.
