Thursday evening around 6:30pm, Pittsburgh Police were attempting to serve a warrant at a home on Mount Washington when the suspect barricaded himself inside, refusing to exit.
SWAT was called in because the man had a history of violence and police didn't if anyone else was inside with him or if he had any weapons.
Police say negotiations and multiple calls for the man to exit were not successful.
SWAT was able to get inside the home shortly after 8pm. The suspect surrendered without incident.
He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
