The gunman who shot and killed a Ringgold High School senior and wounded her friend pleaded guilty Monday to third-degree murder and conspiracy charges.
The plea came as jury selection was set to begin for Windale Barfield's trial in Washington County.
For killing 18-year-old Annalaya Wilkerson of Monongahela in 2024, Barfield was sentenced to a term of 22 to 44 years in prison.
His brother, Anthony, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit homicide and was sentenced to serve 15 to 30 years in prison.
