Man with 12 DUI convictions to spend over 10 years behind bars

A Washington County man who hasn't had a valid driver's license since Gerald Ford was President has been sentenced to up to eleven years in prison after his conviction for a crash that injured three motorcyclists in 2023.

68-year-old William Strogish of Ellsworth was charged by Ligonier police for the accident, his 12th DUI conviction.

Police say an intoxicated Strogish drove his SUV into the opposite lane of traffic, hitting four cyclists, three of whom were injured, some with lifelong injuries.

Strogish hasn’t had a valid driver’s license since 1976.
