Pittsburgher turned Hollywood star Joe Manganiello wanted to see the Pirates rookie pitching sensation Paul Skenes live and in person before the season ends.
The Mt. Lebanon graduate was back in Pittsburgh on Wednesday to throw out the first pitch in what may have been the most unique one in the history of PNC Park.
Manganiello threw the pitch with one arm while his other held his dog, a chihuahua named Bubbles.
Manganiello was also accompanied by his girlfriend, Caitlin O’Connor. The two have been dating for nearly a year now.
Talking to SportsNet Pittsburgh during the game, Manganiello said due to filming the second season of his game show “Deal or No Deal Island” season two.
In addition to talking about other projects he’s working on, Manganiello said he’s a huge fan of Skenes and if he wins National League Rookie of the Year, he’ll wear a mustache for an entire month.
“Pittsburgh’s such a fun sports city, there’s some fun traditions and I love seeing all of those mustaches, it’s great,” said Manganiello.
