The Adams Township board of supervisors will vote tonight on whether to approve a joint agreement between the township and the borough of Mars to merge into one entity called Mars Township.
The Mars Borough Council is set to hold a public hearing and subsequent vote on July 6.
If approved by both municipal boards, the measure will be placed on the November ballot for voters to decide.
If fully approved by local officials and voters, the merger will take effect on January 1, 2028.
