Mars School District raising taxes for third-straight year

The day after the school board voted to raise taxes for Seneca Valley property owners, the Mars Area board did the same.

The Cranberry Eagle reports it's the third straight year Mars has raised school taxes.

But this increase is much less, 1-mill compared to about 5.5 in Seneca Valley.

Next year's budget for the Mars Area schools is about $65 million, up by $2.5 million from last year.
