"The Mars Area School Board and Mars Area Education Association are pleased to announce that they have reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement this evening."
That was the message posted to the Mars School District's website Wednesday night.
Teachers were scheduled to begin their strike on Friday.
The agreement is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.
