Injured Karns City quarterback Mason Martin, who has been hospitalized since the beginning of September 2023 is close to being discharged from the hospital.
Denny Martin, Mason’s father provided an update via Facebook on Tuesday, saying that his son won’t be released on Wednesday, but is expected to get out of the hospital next week.
Denny says he doesn’t want to post the exact date, but because it can change.
When he is discharged, Mason will have outpatient rehabilitation therapy at the Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry.
“I have heard nothing but great things about the rehab services there and Dr. Kremm thinks it’ll be a perfect fit for him,” Denny says in the post.
Denny says that his son is continuing to “do well in rehab” and is “improving in all areas.”
He added Mason continues to gain independence, but the last thing could return for him his is ability to speak.
Even though he isn’t able to speak, Denny says his son is able to communicate with the nurses, therapists and doctors.
“We have goals and big plans and he is well on his way to achieving them,” Denny said. “I can’t express how proud I am of him. Thanks for all the prayers and support. Hopefully my next update will be from my living room.”
A GoFundMe campaign to support Mason and his family is still active.
