
The makers of a popular TV crime drama are getting a boost from the state.
The Pennsylvania Film Office is providing a $27 million tax credit to the producers of "The Mayor of Kingstown" being produced in Pittsburgh for a second season.
The program offers a 25 percent tax credit to producers who spend at least 60 percent of a project's total budget in the Commonwealth.
To be eligible, projects must be a feature film, a television movie, a talk or game show series, a commercial, or a pilot.
It is estimated "The Mayor of Kingstown" has so far created more than 3,000 jobs and injected over $90 million into the regional economy.
“Mayor of Kingstown” starring Jeremy Renner takes place in the fictional town of Kingstown, Michigan and is a crime drama.
