Here’s Johnny!
Meet North Huntingdon Police Department’s newest officer, K9 Johnny.
The department says that Officer Johnny is a 10-month-old Belgian Malinois from “De Stroete Kennels in Aalten Netherlands.
Johnny officially went on duty recently after he, along with his handler Sgt. Justin Wardman, were certified through the North American Police Work Dog Association in Narcotics training.
Johnny will be trained this summer in his “Patrol/Utility phase (advanced obedience, tracking, aggression control, building area and article searches)” through the NAPWDA.
The department says that Johnny has already bonded with dispatchers and other officers.
Two other police dogs are on staff, K9 Zargo and K9 Ivan.
