Pittsburgh hospitals welcomed the first babies of 2026 shortly after midnight on New Year's Day.
UPMC Magee welcomed its first baby of 2026 at 12:16 a.m., the first Pittsburgh-born baby of the year.
Hellena weighed in at 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 20 inches long.
Mom and dad are Fernando and Camila from West View.
A few minutes later, Marina was the first baby born at AHN at Forbes Hospital. She was born at 12:19.
Her parents, Rachel and Tyler Solis of Irwin now have four children.
The Solis family will receive a year supply of free diapers courtesy of the Western PA Diaper Bank.
