Meijer's soon to be built store on Franklin Road in Cranberry has won approval to sell alcohol.
Township supervisors granted the grocery chain a transfer of the liquor license held by Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza.
The Cranberry Eagle reports the Meijer location is part of a mixed-use development still in the planning stages.
The store would offer groceries, drive-through pharmacy service, electronics, retails items and curbside pickup.
Meijer was founded 90 years ago in Greenville, Michigan and operates nearly 260 stores, mainly in the Midwest.
In addition to groceries, Meijer also sells electronics, outdoor items, clothing, shoes and more.
Meijer also plans to run a gas station and convenience store next to the building.
The closest Meijer location to Pittsburgh is currently about an hour away in Boardman, Ohio.
