Mercer County wants to grow with three of its communities paying people to move there.

Hermitage, Greenville, and Sharon are all offering several thousands of dollars in cash to make moving there easy, affordable, and rewarding.

Jake Rickert, with Penn-Northwest Development tells me there are a few requirements.

“You have to be over 100 miles away so, for all the Pittsburgh looking to move up, you’re just outside the bubble, I’m sorry,” said Rickert. “And then we would really prefer that they were really remote jobs, is what we’re looking. We’re open to other things but remote jobs is kind of the big one.”

Rickert says there are additional incentives raising the value to nearly $7,000 which includes:  a free six-month gym membership, a lifetime membership to an area golf course, free summer camp for kids, and more.

He adds that families interested in “safe” communities with “great access to education, great access to opportunities, we want to help them find us and hopefully relocate them here.”

Rickert says families from Arizona and New Jersey are the first two applicants accepted in the program. If you know someone who could be interested, they can apply online HERE.
