A Mexican national has pleaded guilty and has been sentenced in federal court to time served for illegally possessing a firearm.
U.S. District Judge Robert Colville imposed the sentence on 30-year-old Xalamihua Salinas.
During a search of Salinas's vehicle, officers found a gun and since he was illegally and unlawfully in the United States, he was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Salinas will remain in custody until he is deported
