Now you can get a slice of one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic pies before you fly out or after you fly into Pittsburgh International Airport.
Mineo's Pizza will be opening at the Airport sometime next spring, just in time for the opening of the new terminal.
The announcement was made in the Allegheny County Airport Authorities, Blue Sky News.
In addition to pizza, customers will be able to get hoagies, salads and appetizers.
Starting in Squirrel Hills, Mineo’s has been a Pittsburgh staple for over 65 years.
“We are very excited to open our newest restaurant in Pittsburgh International Airport,” said Gio Mineo. “It’s an exciting time for the region with the new terminal opening next year, and we are proud to be a part of it. We are looking forward to introducing our award-winning pizza to the millions of first-time visitors to Pittsburgh. We are also excited that travelers visiting former Pittsburgh residents can now bring them a little slice of home.”
Earlier this year, Mineo's was included in a list of New York Times readers' submissions for the 15 best pizza places around the world.
Mineo’s also operates restaurants in Mt. Lebanon and Allison bar.
Pittsburgh International will be Mineo’s fourth location.
