A Popular Pittsburgh-area bakery has closed its doors after an over 100-years in business.
Minerva Bakery in McKeesport announced Monday morning it was closing down after 103 years.
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has walked through our doors, shared our baked goods with their families, and supported us throughout the years,” the bakery owners said in a Facebook post.
Located at 927 5th Avenue in McKeesport, Minerva Bakery had been operating since 1923.
“While saying goodbye is difficult, we are proud of the legacy we leave behind and humbled to be a small part of so many lives for 103 years,” the Bakery said.
No reason for the closure was given.
