The Mohawk Area School district is leading the way on a new bus technology.
It's participating in a pilot for LED stop arm extensions from Bus Gate.
The arm has hundreds of LED lights and the arm sticks out about four feet from the side of the bus.
The district says the technology can reduce stop arm violations by 95 percent and potentially 17 million fewer chances per year for a child to be hurt by a driver that doesn't stop.
