Mother charged after bodies of three dead infants found in Armstrong Co. home

A woman is in custody in Armstrong County, charged with Criminal Homicide and abuse of a corpse after three dead infants were found in a home she was evicted from in August.

State Police in Kittanning announced the charges Monday morning against Jessica Mauthe.

The bodies of three babies were found in a home she had been evicted from on the 100 block of Oak Avenue in Cadogan Township.

Reports say the owner of the home found the body of a baby in a trash bag inside a closet, and two others were found in tote bags in the attic.

The owner was cleaning out the home this past weekend when he made the grim discoveries

The Leader Times in Armstrong County reports Mauthe birthed one of the children about a year ago.

She admitted to wrapping the infant in a towel and several plastic bags.

She also said she put the other two infants in totes and placed them in the home’s attic.

Mauthe has been denied bail and is being held in the Armstrong County Jail.
