You're about to meet Carol, whose world was turned upside down in an instant just weeks before Christmas. In the video on this page, Carol tells us what happened to her son and why she is on the verge of being homeless.

Every knock on her apartment door is heart-stopping for Carol these days. She is living in fear that any day she could be out on the streets.
Everything was good until a few weeks before Christmas. Carol was living with her oldest son and her dog in the apartment they shared in Bethel Park. It was the perfect arrangement for her fixed income.
That all changed in an instant in December, when he suddenly passed away at a friend's home in the middle of the night. On top of the emotional shock, Carol no longer had a roommate to share expenses with. In the middle of all of this, Carol lost her job as a home health aide, dealing another blow to her financial situation. Now, two months behind on her rent with a limited income, Carol is facing eviction. That is why she reached out to Get Marty.

Here's what we have been able to do so far. We connected Kerrell with Allegheny County resources to help find affordable housing. Our longtime friend Phil Dilucente is also getting his law firm involved. They are working with her to stop the eviction and help with a possible life insurance claim.
