UPDATE: Mt. Lebanon's swim center opens to the public Tuesday at noon.
The swimming pool in Mt. Lebanon is closed as crews work to clean the water following a recent incident.
Mt. Lebanon says on Facebook that the pool is closed due to a “diarrheal discharge” and will reopen when CDC protocols are completed.
The pool has been closed since Saturday afternoon.
According to the CDC, pools “should raise the free chlorine concentration very high for hours” when someone has diarrhea in the pool because it can contain a parasite that is “extremely chlorine-tolerant.
Mt. Lebanon says they were upfront and honest with the public after the pool had filtration issues last summer and wanted to make sure everyone knew that wasn’t the issue.

The township will post an update when the pool opens on its Facebook page.
