UPDATE: This accident has cleared.
An accident on I-79 has snarled both the north and south bound lanes right near the Mt. Nebo exit on Monday afternoon.
The northern-bound lanes are completely closed right before the Mt. Nebo accident.
It happened after 3 p.m.
It appears the multi-vehicle accident happened in the southern-bound “local” lane, which is on the northern side. The one vehicle is completely blocking the “local” lane. The other in the grass that separates the highway.
With construction in the area, the southern lanes of I-79 split into a “local” and an “express” lane after the I-79/I-279 split.
Multiple crews are on the scene and firefighters were seen spraying down one of the cars with a firehose.
No word on any injuries.
