Multiple accidents reports on I-70 near I-79 split

UPDATE: Traffic cameras show the roadway has cleared.

Several crashes are causing issues on Interstate 70 Friday afternoon.

There are road closures near the split with Interstate 79, in Washington County.

PA State Police say "we are handling multiple crashes . . . if you are driving be on the look out for changing road conditions and emergency vehicles."

South Strabane Fire Department reports the Westbound lane is closed after the "519 on ramp to I-70."

This after at least 18 vehicles crashed north of Pittsburgh on I-79.

18-vehicle accident closes large portion of I-79
