Multiple DUI checkpoints/enforcements happening around Pittsburgh this weekend

Police will be out all around the Pittsburgh area looking for impaired drivers this St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

The North Hills, South Hills and West Hills DUI Task Forces will be conducting DUI enforcement efforts March 14-16.

The West Hills DUI Task Force includes officers from: Avalon, Bellevue, Carnegie, Coraopolis, Crafton, Crescent Township, Findlay, Edgeworth, Kennedy, Leetsdale, Moon, North Fayette Township, Ohio, Robinson, Sewickley, and Stowe.

West Hills Task Force say there could be “full-scale sobriety checkpoints” and /or Roving DUI patrols.

The South Hills DUI Task Force will be patrolling Friday and through the weekend, looking for impaired drivers.

The message from law enforcement for people celebrating St. Patrick’s Day is: Buzzed Driving Is Drunk Driving.

They're encouraging those who drink to plan ahead for a sober ride home.

And they're asking anyone who sees a drunk driver on the road to call 911. 17 police departments are part of this weekend's DUI Task Force.
