Pittsburgh Public Safety officials are laying out their security plan ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Officials say coordination is key, with agencies like the FBI, ATF, and Pennsylvania State Police all involved in security.
At Friday’s press conference, FBI Special Agent in Charge Richard Evanchek says there are currently no credible threats, and agents will be working around the clock to keep the event safe.
“We do have a few days before the event and one thing that I would just remind the public of is, you are our greatest asset, if there is someone else there concerning or posting comments or planning some sort of event here, targeting the draft, we certainly want to be aware of that,” said Evanchek.
Evanchek is also urging residents to report anything suspicious by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI or 911.
It was also announced that drones will be banned during the NFL Draft in two weeks.
Evanchek says the FBI has worked with the FAA to close the airspace for recreational drones on the North Shore and at Point State Park.
Those that violate the air restrictions face prosecution.
Evanchek says flight restrictions extend one mile from the draft festivities.
