With an extreme cold watch this weekend, conditions will be bleak in the Pittsburgh area. Real Feel temperatures are forecast to bottom out around 25 below zero.
This harsh season underscores the importance of the 18th annual NRG/KDKA Radio Warmathon.
The fundraiser to benefit the Dollar Energy Fund provides utility assistance for Western Pennsylvania families in need, especially during one of the worst winters in memory. And it’s been just a few weeks since higher utility rates took effect.
So far, the Warmathon has raised more than $3.3 million so our neighbors have safe utility service.
The Warmathon starts Thursday but you can donate online now through the Dollar Energy Fund Warmathon page. There’s also an online auction. You’ll find the links at KDKA Radio.com.
And be sure to join us on the 12th from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and help Pittsburgh-area families stay warm.
