Oakland Crossings development proposal skips proper zoning process

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Oakland residents said a proposed bill approved by Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto would change zoning codes at Walnut Capital's Oakland Crossings, but the development company didn't go through the proper procedures.

"It's the city's own planning process that is being undercut by this proposal," said Andrea Boykowycz, Assistant Director of Oakland Planning and Development Corporation.

She says this sets a really concerning precedent not just for Oakland, but for the rest of the city.
