Mayor O'Connor makes it clear Pittsburgh Police won't assist ICE operations

During a news conference at the convention center today, Mayor O'Connor addressed an uptick in ICE activity across Pittsburgh.

Photos of ICE agents outside UPMC Mercy and other Pittsburgh locations have raised concerns among residents.

Mayor Corey O’Connor made it clear that the city will not assist in federal immigration operations.

“If an organization like that calls us, we are not going, we are not supporting, we’ve said it a number of times,” said O’Connor.

O’Connor says the city maintains no partnership with ICE and wants residents to know their rights are protected.
