A Delmont Police officer and a K-9 were injured Sunday night responding to an incident in Murrysville.
Officer Dylan Keffer activated the lights on his patrol vehicle and was struck by another driver from behind on Route 22.
Both Officer Keffer and the K-9 were transported for evaluation and treatment. They were released and are recovering at home.
Delmont Police Chief T.J. Klobucar said in a release, “I am so thankful for the outpouring of support from the community, in addition to the care and consideration we’ve received in regard to Officer Keffer and K-9 Dirk’s health and well-being. We are looking forward to their return to service, and we are grateful their injuries were not more serious.”
