A police officer in Ellwood city has been demoted from sergeant to patrolman after an incident at a Beaver County Sheetz earlier this month.
The Beaver County Times reports in addition to the demotion, Robert Magnifico is suspended for 10 days without pay and must undergo additional training.
Video, posted online, shows Officer Magnifico pushing a young man after a verbal argument inside the Sheetz location in Ellwood City.
The incident reportedly started after a man went back into the Sheetz to look for a phone but wouldn’t leave after workers wouldn’t give it back.
That led to police being called and the pushing incident.
No other charges have been filed connected to the incident.
Magnifico is also the head football coach at Riverside High School.
