The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting that occurred early Friday morning in the city's Brighton Heights neighborhood.
It happened in the 200 block of Carpenter Lane at around 6 a.m.
According to a report, Pittsburgh Police officers responding to a domestic disturbance at the home, say a man approached one of the officers and stabbed the officer with a knife.
A second officer then shot the attacker multiple times.
The officer was treated for minor stab wounds, while the man who was shot died at the scene.
