Wilkinsburg officials reviewing videos that shows man being taken into ICE custody

Officials confirmed agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were in the Wilkinsburg area Wednesday morning and say they’re continuing to gather details.

Mayor Dontae Comans says the borough’s top priority is the safety and well-being of all residents.

Officials are reviewing surveillance video to better understand what happened and to ensure accurate information is shared.

A video circulating on social media appears to show someone believed to be a juvenile being taken into custody by ICE agents.

Borough leaders say they are working to verify the circumstances surrounding that incident.

The mayor is urging anyone who may have been affected, or who witnessed activity, to contact Casa San José for guidance and support.

Community members are encouraged to stay informed and rely on verified information as officials continue monitoring the situation.

Mayor Comans also made clear to KDKA Radio that Wilkinsburg will not cooperate with ICE enforcement efforts.
