Officials are warning of a scam in Beaver County
Independence Township Fire and EMS say a man in a “large, black SUV” claiming to be a sheikh from Dubai is telling those who interact with him that he needs money and that his credit cards are not working.
In three reported cases, the man tries to hand over a ring. In one case he threw the ring into someone’s car.
One person offered to buy the man some gasoline, but he refuses and says he needs cash.
The man has been spotted on Routes 18, 151 and 30.
“Please be careful out there!!!!!,” a Facebook post from the department reads.
