PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - We have, so far, lived through roughly two years of Covid-19.
The Spanish flu ended in about two and a half years.
"The way it ended was, there was a variant that just kind of infected almost everybody, but it wasn't nearly as severe," said Dr. Jon Davidson, Section Chief, Department of Radiology for University Hospitals of Cleveland, and Associate Professor of Case Western School of Medicine. "Hopefully, that's that we're seeing with Omicron. That's my optimistic message to leave you with."
Davidson added the virus is not going away completely.
"Our hope is it just gets, you know, into a type of background situation, like the flu, and it's going to be seasonal," Davidson said.
