The Allegheny County Fire Marshall's office says it's completed its on-scene investigation of the Plum house explosion last month.
The main finding was that there were no factors external to the home which led to the explosion at 141 Rustic Ridge.
All potential outside factors such as wells, pipelines, ground gas propagation other utilities were inspected and tested and ruled out as potential factors. The property is being turned back over to property owners
The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is urging homeowners to install combustible gas detectors and remind residents that if you smell natural gas, do not turn on any appliances or light switches, exit the home and go to a safe area away from the home, call 911 from outside of the home, and do not re-enter the home.
